Queenswood

The House
Queenswood is a prominent Victorian house in the picturesque village of Cradley, less than 10 minutes from  Malvern. An excellent area for walking, Cradley is at the centre of a large network of footpaths and we have direct access by footpath to the Malvern Hills.

For nearly 25 yrs we successfully ran Hidelow House, a 5 Star holiday cottage and B&B business in a neighbouring village. In 2016 we moved to Cradley and completely refurbished Queenswood;  now it has four spacious guest bedrooms, a guests' dining room, a drawing room with log fires on cooler nights, Freeview TV and free Wifi throughout.

Our  Village
Cradley nestles on the very edge of the stunning Malvern Hills, in both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Conservation Area. Queenswood itself is quietly located on the outskirts of the village, amongst ancient mixed woodland and fields of sheep, cows and horses; set slightly off the road, and with plenty of off-road parking.

Our Bedrooms
Our 4 bedrooms are light and airy with ensuite facilities, soft white towels and constant hot water. You can choose from 2 King-sized bedrooms (one has a mahogany 4-Poster) a Twin room or a Family room with double and single beds (either one or two, depending on your needs). All have walk-in shower cubicles with powerful showers - or if you prefer a bath, our Twin-bedded room has a bath with a powerful shower over the bath. All rooms have fantastic views over the surrounding countryside.

Our Beds
Our beds are luxuriously comfortable, with deep sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets and light, snuggly 'soft-as-down' microfibre duvets. (If you have an allergy to feathers, you will be pleased to know we have no feather duvets or pillows). All our bedrooms have a table, comfortable armchairs, Freeview TV, free WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities, wine glasses, tumblers and bottle openers. 

Our Breakfasts
Full English Breakfast at Queenswood is standard and comes with a buffet table with home-made breads, jams and marmalades. Continental breakfasts, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, kippers or smoked haddock and poached eggs or vegetarian options are also available. We are well used to a variety of dietary requirements, but please let us know in advance.

Our Local Pub
It is only a 10 min walk across the fields (or a 2 min drive) to the Red Lion pub at Stiffords Bridge where they serve excellent home-cooked lunches and evening meals (except Mondays) and have regular music and quiz nights.The British Legion Club in Cradley, friendly and welcoming to non-members, also has regular (free) film nights and quiz nights in the bar.

Malvern Hills Water
Malvern was popular in Victorian times for the healing properties of Malvern Hills water, now bottled and sold throughout the UK. The water actually emerges at a number of 'spouts' on the Malvern Hills, so bring your own bottles and we will tell you at which of 88 spouts you can fill your own bottles for free!

Our Pets
If you like animals, we have a collie dog and 2 ginger cats, all very friendly, but in case you are allergic to domestic animals, we keep them in our part of the house. If you'd like to make a fuss of them in the garden however, you will become their new best friend!
